How quickly things change

HA. I have to laugh at this right now. I think I have another kidney stone. I have the pain and the symptoms of it again. My lower back and flanks hurt. Yesterday, my body was so swollen that my pants left the perfect indentation in my skin. I never made my run last night because I couldn't even walk with out everything jiggling inside. Instead, I laid on the couch with my favorite man and we watched TV and talked. Today, I'll be calling my urologist to see if it's just an infection or a kidney stone. It's possible that it's an infection because the pain is different than it was with just the stone. If he thinks it's a stone, I'll start on the flomax once again and chug the water like it's my job. So, that is where I am with that. I won't be running until I know what is wrong on the inside.

In other news.. I told B last night that I was going to save up for a Garmin. His response was "You may just get one with your new car". I had to laugh. I explained to him that it was for running so I could monitor my runs. Then I said that by the time I save for it, I'll decide against it and use the money towards something else. I think I confused the poor boy. I know that I'm an instant gratification person. If I want something right now, and I don't buy it right away, I'll forget about it and decide I dont' really need it. So, if I just take this approach to everything (hence running shoes) I may actually save more money in the end!

Speaking of money. I finally turned in my petition for refund for school. The lady made me nervous when she said that they will review it and let me know if they will refund. I said "well, they better or I won't come back here!" Let's hope they refund it so I can try to take an online course in January. I decided that I want to try the online version of it to do it at my own pace. Maybe, I'll be able to salvage the books that I purchased for 215 dollars!

Well. That's it for me right now. I just ate my breakfast of cottage cheese and a granola bar. I can't do any work right now because everyone decided that today would be a good day to run the vacuum. We don't have a cleaning crew, so when we find a vacuum, we grab it! Gross isn't it? I will update you after my doctor calls me back (that's the really nice thing about him.. HE calls me himself!). I hope that everyone is having a great day!

Edited to add... I'm going to the urologist tomorrow morning at 9am. I forgot he does his surgeries on Thursday. How quickly I blocked that out of my memory! Let's just hope it's an infection and can be quickly cured with antibiotics! I want to run!!!!!

Wow, what a bummer. Really hope you get to feeling better soon. Sounds like you have a doctor that really takes time and listens, I'm jealous!

Instant gratification is amazing. It is so hard to save for something. A Garmin would be really cool. If you get one, you definitely have to update us.

Good luck, hope your health problems are solved quickly!

Is this a special running Garmin or the kind you put in your car that mount on the windscreen? The car kind will be on sale on black friday, not too far away :-)

Thank you for your nice comment :-)
I used to love running too, there's no better feeling I think!
So sorry about your kidney stone, I hope you get rid of it painlessly.

Oh, the pain of a kidney stone - YUCK! I've had both a kidney stone & given birth to 2 children, honestly, I think the pain with the stone was a little worse than labor. Just my opinion. Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

I've never had a kidney stone (knock on wood) but I've heard they can be very painful. Hopefully, it's just an infection that you can treat quickly. I want your doctor. I've been to a few since my move to florida and it's like being on an assembly line for treatment.

Feel better soon!

I hope for your sake it's just an infection that can be taken care of with some meds.

Good luck with the refund too--my brother had an issue last year but he won.

Wow, I had no idea I was so far behind on my Nan soap opera! I'm starting where I left off, but seriously, I can't believe you might have another stone. Ugh! I'm sending healing vibes your way (but hopefully as I read to get caught up, I will hear that all is well).

BTW, right now they have the Garmin 305 at Costco for only $159.99. I would love to have one, but for now I'll just keep using my Nike+, even though it's not the most accurate.
