I got nailed

Yup. 7 miles into an awesome 15 mile plus ride and I got nailed. I ran right over a roofing nail and it went through my brand new tube on the back tire. We called B's friend to pick us up and then B took my bike to get fixed. I will have it back with brand new tubes and tires. By the time I'm done with this bike, it will be brand new! We won't get to ride very long tomorrow since B has pipe practice around 7. That gives us just enough time to ride to the chiropractor and back home, grill some burgers and eat. I will then get two hours to clean up the house which I have been drastically slacking on. I feel like I just keep moving things around.

Friday morning we are planning on running in the AM. I'm hoping to get back on track with that so I can attempt my half marathon training. If not, my neighbor told me about a duathalon here in my city. It's a 5k run, followed by a 20k ride, followed by another 5k run. How fun would that be? My butt is finally used to the bike seat and the hills are getting easier. I just I had it to ride right now. I took Nora for a walk to downtown instead. Once we got home, I filled up her pool and she ran around the back yard like a crazy dog. In and out of the pool and in and out of the dirt. What a mess she is. The good news is that she's tired. Thankfully!

Is this thing on?

Wow.  I can't believe I still know how to log in!   I know my posts are so sporadic, but it's been a crazy few weeks.  The garage sale went well, bringing in just over 500 dollars.   That helped to pay my bills.   I packed everything else up and took it to the Lake County board of MR/DD for their garage sale fundraiser.

Our bikes were done early!  I got new tubes, brake pads and brake line with a tune-up.  B's bike just had a tune up and we were ready to rock.  My friend dropped us off at Eddy's Bike Shop and we rode the 7 miles home.  We were feeling great and decided that we would go for another bike ride in a few hours.  What a pain in the ass that was!  Literally!

Our butts have finally gotten used to the beating and are now a bit tougher.  We are riding every where we can.  The 2 days that he's been to work (well, 3, but one day was overtime and he was already there), he rode his bike.  On Tuesday I rode halfway there with him and back home before work.  I met him halfway home yesterday and we took off and I finished with 10.15 and he finished with 11.15.  Today I rode all the way to the station with him and home, giving me about 12 miles.  It's generally down hill there with a few ups.  The house just sits on higher ground meaning I did a lot of up hill this morning.  It's much easier now than it was last week!

I need to make more time for my running.  We've had the bikes back for a week and have probably put nearly 90-100 miles on them.  My legs are HUGE with muscle, and I'm noticing that I'm firming up all over.  I am trying to get into a new routine with running in the mornings before work.  I'm thinking of busting out a run today since I'm home alone and need something to fill the void.  I'm sure Nora would love to run since she hasn't gone the past few times.

Well.  I have a lot of cleaning to do right now, so I guess it's time I go.  If I don't update for a while, that just means I'm out running, riding or walking.  I've put more miles on my body than I have with my car.  Which reminds me... I have 2 payments left before it goes back to the dealer.  I sure can't wait until that financial burden is off of my back!   Ok.  Enough rambling... I'm hungry!

Keeping active

I'm keeping as active as I can lately.  Killer is keeping busy as well.  In the past two weeks we (you know... B) has been cleaning up the dead animals.  2 parts of a bird and the squirrel from last night.  He was a fighter like the last squirrel and left its mark on her chin and snout.  My poor baby.  I just walked her to downtown to return season 4 of Rescue Me to the library.  Now she should be tired enough that I don't have to worry about her chasing squirrels!   I was going to run this morning, but it was pouring when we woke up.  I think tomorrow morning I will jump rope to get that extra boost.  Thursday and Friday are garage sale days.  I am excited to get rid of some stuff and make some money!  I'm praying for the rain to stay away.  That's all the news I have right now.  I'll be back to post more later!
